AMP Fitness will go “Bonkers for Burpees” this summer to help support the Special Olympics of Ohio.

At an Olympic-themed event on Aug. 7, AMP Fitness owner and certified personal trainer Larry Tedor will make an official attempt to add his name to the Guinness Book of World Records for performing the most burpees in a one-minute time period.

In addition to the main event, the day will feature family friendly health-related activities, fitness challenges, demonstrations and raffles. It will also serve as a fundraiser for the Special Olympics of Ohio, which provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The state chapter has approximately 200 member organizations and more than 23,000 athletes who are in training and competition.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate in our Bonkers for Burpees challenge. Register for the burpee challenge and collect pledges from family, friends, neighbors and co-workers, with all of the pledges collected going to Special Olympics of Ohio. They can choose to either pledge a flat donation or a pledge per rep (eg.- Jane Doe pledges $2 for each burpee completed-$20 minimum; John Smith donates $50).
