Being a small business owner means that I live a pretty busy life. I not only run AMP Fitness, where prepare for and train clients six days a week, but I’m also a husband and parent to four of our children who still live at home.
So when my clients tell me that they have a difficult time fitting in fitness, I completely understand. We are all busy people, and a typical day may seem like an endless to-do list. And I can see how exercise may not always be the priority on that list.
So I challenge you to think about fitness in a different way — not as a line item on a to-do list that needs to be checked off but something that is a regular part of your life, just like getting up and getting dressed in the morning and going to work. It is something you do for yourself to make you a better person.
When you make your health a priority, you’re not only taking care of yourself but you are helping those around you as well — co-workers, friends and family. Also, did you know that regular exercise can help you better manage the stresses of daily life?
I also want you to think about fitness not as a single exercise session done at a scheduled time but as a way of life. We love to see our clients when they train here in our Beachwood studio, but you have other opportunities to stay active throughout the week as well. Biking, walking, running, kayaking, weeding your garden, swimming, practicing a sport with your child in the backyard — these are all activities that keep our bodies healthy and moving.
